I am camped outside the airstream dealer here in Spokane, Wa. Tomorrow will be a week and will be here until next wed. at least. I came in last weekend to get the recall done on my ref., and a few other items as well. While here I decided to add some more solar panels on the roof of the trailer, also including an inverter for ac power. Now I can dry camp. I haven't been out doing anything much, I don't like big cities, so I will post a few photos I shot while down in Oregon. This is Wallowa lake, just south of Joseph, Or. This is at a very small town named Imnaha, Or. and that is the Imnaha river. This is the end of the road. Mama standing guard over her colt. Hey, it's feeding time. A very pretty sight. There were others but I left, they were letting me know that they didn't like me there. Maybe they were camera shy. By the way, if you ckick on the picture it will get larger for a better view.

The trip from Oregon to Washington was spectacular. There was an area along the state line of green mountains and a valley with a long decent, was told 7 miles, of a steep and crooked road. At the bottom was a big river, and a long switch back road up the other side. The truck performed great, both up and down. The photo above is part of the road down into the valley. A view of the river after starting up out of the valley. No photos at the bottom, there are not many places to pull over with a rig that is 52 ft. long. Part of the road coming out of the valley. This is so beautiful I wanted to stop and take a picture around every curve, but then that is not possible. I hope each of you enjoy these photos, even though they can only show a small part of the whole picture.

OK, time to move on once again. I am hooked up and ready to leave Enterprise, Or. It has been a nice break and very enjoyable, although the weather has not been that great at times. I did get the truck and trailer washed yesterday, they needed it very bad. My friend, Joe Sikos, alerted me to a recall on my type of refrigerator, upon checking, it is on the list. Thanks Joe. I have an appointment Tuesday AM in Spokane, Washington to get repaired. That is about 200 miles from here, not much out of the way but a change of routes. I looked at the route on Google Earth and it looks interesting. I love that program. I can check the roads, the type of terrain, the elevation of the roads, and lots more info. If any of you have not used it, check it out. Well I must get to bed so I can get on the road before noon today, Sunday.

I'm still in Enterprise, Or. It's 8:30PM and just getting dark, temp is 43 deg. with winds from WNW at 9 mph, gusting to 18. We have a prediction of 33 deg tonight, BURRR. They are predicting strong winds, and some rain, for a couple more days, from the N and NW. Guess which direction I am headed? I may just stay a couple more days, I calculated that LP is cheaper than diesel fuel, which I saw today at $4.76/gal. The truck and trailer are both serviced and ready to go, clothes washed, I am rested and ready, just waiting on the weather. It is warmer in both Canada and Alaska than here! On the bright side, Maybe I can figure out how to post photos to this site for you to see. Any of you are welcome to place comments on this site when and if you want to. Any questions, send me an email to usaroamer@gmail.com, I'll try and answer them.

Taking a break from the road

Left Livingston, Tx. 4/28 and am now in a small, out of the way, place taking a break from the road. Place is Enterprise, Oregon, up in the N.E. corner of the state. It's small valley of just over 2000 people, very green, and snow covered mountains to the south and west, very quite and peaceful, and beautiful. I will attach photos later when I learn to use this site properly.
